
Justin Marinovich
Justin is a Partner and leads the Firm’s civil and regulatory litigation practice. With 20 years’ experience in civil, employment and regulatory litigation, Justin acts for a variety of private and corporate clients.
Justin is a Principal Crown Prosecutor with 20 years criminal advocacy experience conducting jury trials on behalf of the Crown in both the District and High Court. Justin has a particular interest in youth justice and appears regularly for the Crown in the Youth Court. Justin has appeared in a variety of forums including:
- Youth Court
- District Court
- High Court
- Court of Appeal
- Environment Court
- Coroners’ Court
- Parole Board
- Teaching Council
Justin also advises a number of Government Departments and Local Authorities with regulatory enforcement and prosecution issues. This sees him regularly conduct seminars for the New Zealand Police and Local Authority clients on important issues and changes in legislation.
Outside of the firm, Justin is a faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills Programme and previously a Council Member of the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Law Society. Justin is a panel member on the judicial committee for the Taranaki Rugby Football Union and on the judicial panel for Sport Taranaki.
Justin is proud of his Croatian heritage and is affiliated to Ngati Hauiti through his wife Susie.
Outside of work Justin is involved in triathlon and surf lifesaving. Away from sports he can often be found tinkering on his old Pontiac car with his son.
